CXL (Crosslinking)
At the beginning of the Crosslinking procedure, the epithelial layer is removed using 20% alcohol solution and Vitamin B2-(Riboflavin)drops are applied for 30 minutes. The Riboflavin protects the inner layer of the cornea, the lens and the retina. UV light is applied to the cornea for 10 minutes (accelerated Crosslinking protocol). At the end, a bandage contact lens is used for about one week in order to accelerate the healing and for better pain control. UV Crosslinking is fast, very safe and extremely efficient.
